Terms of Service

Effective Date: 7/13/2025

Welcome to Lanespotter.bike — a content-driven website for cyclists, built by cyclists.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Lanespotter.bike (the “Site”) and any content, tools, downloads, services, or communications offered through it. By using this Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, that’s okay — but you’ll need to step off the pedals and not use the Site.

1. Who We Are

Lanespotter.bike is an independently owned and operated website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the former company or app previously known as “Lanespotter.” This is a new project built from the ground up, focused on bike routes, reviews, cycling content, and digital tools.

2. Affiliate Disclosure + Advertising

We use affiliate links and display ads. If you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission (at no extra cost to you). These partnerships do not influence our opinions — we aim to only recommend products and services we actually believe in.

More info? See our full Affiliate Disclosure

3. No Professional Advice

We’re riders, not lawyers, doctors, or own any fancy certification papers. All the information provided on this Site is for informational and entertainment purposes only. Use your own judgment (and maybe check your local bike shop) before making decisions based on anything here.

4. User Conduct

By using this Site, you agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable laws
  • Try to hack, disrupt, or damage the Site
  • Upload or submit anything illegal, offensive, or spammy
  • Use our GPX files, tools, or content for commercial resale without permission

This isn’t a free-for-all. Play nice.

5. Route Downloads + Tools

Our downloadable route packs (like GPX files) are provided “as is.” We do our best to make sure they’re accurate and safe, but:

  • We can’t guarantee road/path conditions, safety, or legality
  • You ride at your own risk
  • Use common sense, wear a helmet, and obey local laws

Same goes for any future SaaS tools or calculators: use them as guides, not gospel.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on Lanespotter.bike — including articles, graphics, branding, route descriptions, and original tools — is owned by us (unless otherwise credited). Don’t copy, redistribute, or republish our stuff without asking first.

7. Third-Party Links + Content

We sometimes link to other websites, tools, or affiliate partners. We’re not responsible for what happens when you leave LaneSpotter.Bike. Please read their terms and privacy policies separately.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or inconvenience that may arise from your use of the Site or its content — whether that’s a flat tire, bad burrito stop, or your GPS getting weird.

9. Privacy

We respect your privacy. For details on how we collect, store, and use any information, see our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the LaneSpotter.Bike after any changes means you agree to the updated Terms.
